Jae kwan Shin, a patent attorney at THEWAVE IP law firm, was appointed as a special commissioner of the Korea Institute of Marine Science & Technology Promotion (KIMST). 

He was finally appointed by technical experts to serve as a special commissioner in each business department, related organizations, IP research institute of government, and KIMST for the establishment of the 2nd master plan for marine science and technology (2023-2027).
